Shopping Saks Fifth Avenue

This weekend was beyond amazing. My forever busy Fiance had Saturday and Sunday off after a two week commercial shoot, so we were determined to enjoy every second together. On Saturday we had delicious custom made California style salads that we snacked on while sitting outside under the beautiful L.A. sun. Later in the day we saw Bad Teacher, which was a major disappointment. I was super excited to see the celebrity filled comedy but thought overall it wasn't very entertaining or funny. If it wasn't for Cameron's endless amounts of Christian Louboutin's I might not have made it through.  Later in the day we stopped by my ultra favorite store in Beverly Hills, Saks Fifth Avenue. I can't help but feel at home strolling through the racks and gushing over everything I can't afford. I absolutely love the designer brands that Saks carries... Just not my bank statement at the end of the month. But even above their superb apparel selections I simply can't help but raid their handbags, shoes and jewelry sections every time. Street Fash - Kourtney Kardashian

Earlier this week the always fashionable Kourtney Kardashian enjoyed a bite to eat at Beverly Hills eatery, Il Pastaio, with her overly dapper boyfriend and baby daddy Scott Disick. After the meal, the two fit in some retail therapy at Neimens followed by a quick doctors visit. Could another Disick baby be on the horizon? You know E!'s crossing their fingers. I was excited to see Kourtney rocking neutrals so perfectly after my recent trend report outlining their popularity. I'm totally obsessed with her adorable Bec and Bridge shorts and white Rebecca Minkoff top, but the fash gasp goes to her majorly fabulous Christian Louboutin shoes. Adore! K-Dash also paired the look with some lust worthy round Tom Ford sunglasses and a beige Balenciaga handbag. Below are more pictures of Kourtney rocking her fashion all over Beverly Hills. Alice + Olivia Resort 2012

 

The Alice + Olivia Resort 2012 collection has managed to incorporate two of my favorite trends into one stunning line. For a brand that started out as Stacey Bendet's quest to create a flattering pair of form-fitting pants, it's truly incredible to see how its grown into a fabulous full RTW brand. Stacey's designs display bohemian chic elements filled with bold color blocking and the always extreme contrast of black and white stripes. I adore the abundance of color in all of these pictures. They're fun and flirty and perfectly display the easy breezy elements that embody the collection. I'm loving the vintage Barbie vibe! The maxi pieces paired with chunky shoes and floppy hats are beyond uh-mazing and the subtle additions of sequins throughout the collection add the perfect amount of flair. Fash Fave - Olivia Palermo

The uber fashionable socialite Olivia Palermo recently attended a screening of "The Ledge" hosted by The Cinema Society and Grey Goose. The event took place in the swanky Penthouse at Dream Downtown Hotel in New York City. Olivia was looking seriously amazing in a vibrant orange shift dress from celebrity designer, Victoria Beckham's Spring 2011 collection. I absolutely love the curve design on the front of the dress and the large zipper detail down the back of the dress. Olivia color-blocked her ensemble by carrying a bright pink ruffly Sondra Roberts clutch and finished off the look with a pair of chunky leopard heels by Charlotte Olympia. I absolutely love everything about this look. She never disappoints in the fash department, which is why I simply had to chose her as my fash fave of the week. Are you loving Olivia's look?

Fash Fail - Fergie

This week Fergie stepped out at the amfAR Inspiration Gala wearing a Louis Vuitton ensemble complete with over sized sleeves and a small silver bag. I’m fully aware that Fergie wears some seriously crazy outfits when she’s performing with the Peas but at a gala and formal dinner she should have opted for something a little less over the top, especially when the other attendants were wearing floor length designer gowns. I can just picture the timeless ambiance of classical music playing, until Fergie strolled in wearing this getup and the whole room sank into silence... Que the whispers. Her outfit is far too stagey for an event of this manner. I can't imagine Josh Duhmel finding this attractive. Who is she trying to appeal to, Ms. Trunchbull from Matilda? To reference the class of this look, you may remember Kate Moss making a media spectacle in Paris while strutting the runway in this black ensemble smoking a cigarette along the way. Perhaps Fergie's look would have fared better if she didn't have such a harsh look to her with the tight pony tail and super red lipstick. I personally would have opted for a short tight Herve Leger dress under that gaudy jacket... if I was forced to wear it. Over all, this outfit is simply not right for this event which is why I had to make Fergie my fash fail of the week. What do you think of her look?

Fabulous Friday - Melinda Maria

It seems nearly every fashionable celebrity under the Hollywood sun has rocked a Melinda Maria design at one point or another and rightfully so. The young self taught jewelry designer creates some seriously stunning jewelry and I can't help but swoon over each unique piece. It's no secret that I'm totally and completely obsessed with jewelry, so of course when I see a celebrity rocking a stunning piece I instantly put Google to use, tracking down everything I can uncover about the gush worthy designer in question. Carrie Underwood, Chelsea Kane, Vanessa Hudges, Jessica Simpson, Kate Bosworth, Khloe Kardashian, Giuliana Rancic and Emily Blunt are just a few of the stylish Hollywood ladies sporting Melinda Maria pieces. When asked about Melinda's collection Disney star Vanessa Hudgen's revealed "The Pod Ring is one of my absolute favorites. It compliments every outfit and other piece of jewelry I put on." You may even remember a few of the pieces popping up in the Sex and the City sequel. If it's good enough for Bradshaw, it's more than good enough for me. The way each design effortlessly plays with different shapes and materials to achieve the stunning final product is beyond masterful. The best part is most of her collection is pretty affordable so you don't have to worry about consigning your favorite designer pieces in another desperate attempt to snag the celebrity look.
