Halloween Costume Face-Off

With the hills of Hollywood overflowing with actors and reality stars searching for their next TMZ moment, it's easy to understand why Halloween is such an incredibly important night. For me, seeing my favorite style mavens rocking funny, cooky and even creepy costumes all down the boulevard is always a treat. One A-lister who never disappoints is Project Runway Host, Heidi Klum. The amount of dedication the stunning model puts into transforming herself, as you can see above, is truly outstanding. Girl must have A LOT of down time between seasons. Costumes like those definitely don't come in a bag at Party City. To get in the holiday spirit and hopefully inspire some of you last minute costumers, I thought we'd have a little costume face-off with some of my favorite stars from past years. I'm dying to know which celebrity costumes are your favorites. Oh and be sure to check back tomorrow to see my costume from last year and photos from my first Halloween in Hollywood. Xo.

Fash For Less - Lauren Conrad

It's no secret that I love Lauren Conrad's effortlessly chic style and her most recent ensemble has me adoring her even more. Sunday night Lauren was seen leaving Tru Nightclub in Hollywood with Marc Ballas. For those of you following Fash Boulevard on twitter you may remember me breaking a certain story a few weeks back or you may have seen the limited photographic evidence linking Ms. Conrad romantically to Dancing with the Stars hottie, Derek Hough. It's just Hollywood gossip at this point, but here's hoping there's a hint of truth to it. Lauren rocked an elegant bun to counter act her edgy leather shorts, which she paired with a simple mustard top, a diamond necklace and strappy brown heels. Mustard is my favorite color for fall and I love seeing Lauren rock it so early in the season. I hope now that she's back in the dating world we'll be seeing a lot more of her out and about. If you're loving the style mavens Hollywood look check out my fash for less picks below. As always, I've pulled similar pieces from Forever 21 to create a look that is fashionably affordable and can have you looking like Lauren without breaking the bank. Click the picture to shop the look.

Ps. So excited to show you my Jewelmint photo shoot tomorrow. The photos are to die, the pieces are amaze, and the backdrop is gorgeous. Be sure to swing by!  xo

Merging Seasonal Pieces

Fall is the perfect time to put the re-wear styling method to test as you combine your fall and summer pieces to create the ideal transitional ensemble. Recently I decided to layer my new Aqua brand knit sweater over my favorite LC by Lauren Conrad skirt. You may remember me wearing this skirt for one of my summer outfit post in front of Lauren's old "Hills" house, here. If you haven't picked up your fall pieces from Lauren's amazing Kohls collection I urge you all to head to the store now. The super sweet and inspiring designer has delivered another gush worthy collection. This re-wear of Lauren's skirt was a totally different look, showing off a flirty and more summery vibe. This sweater skirt combo is my favorite ensemble for those days when the temperature seems to dip lower than usual, which is happening quite frequently in LA this month. Oversized knit tops are the perfect go-to item for the cool days of fall where you want to look cute, stylish and comfy at the same time. They also lend for super easy layering, whether it be over shirts, skirts, or even maxi dresses. For a more laid back vibe, I braided my hair into a loose side braid for a refreshing break from my usual hair styles. And to top off the look I added a hat I bought on a shopping trip to Venice Beach earlier this year, which you can see here. The blue stone ring I'm wearing is actually a vintage ring that I bought almost seven years ago at a little store in Alabama. I love vintage pieces because they all have history and stories that we can only dream about. I thought this was a great time to rock the piece since it is a perfect pair for my new slouchy knit sweater. What's your favorite way to wear your knit pieces?

See the little lady bug in my hair below... so cute, right? After proclaiming its good luck, I let the spotted creature crawl onto my finger where it proceeded to bite me, with teeth I can only compare to Jaws. After some Google rehab I discovered Asian lady bugs are apparently known for biting. Who knew the Beverly Hills lady bug community was so diverse?

Designed by Lauren Conrad

I have been a huge fan of Lauren Conrad ever since she strutted onto our television screens years ago with MTV's ultra popular docu-series, Laguna Beach. Living in California seemed like a dream life while I was growing up in the south and watching Lauren and her perfectly sun kissed friends melodramatic antics along their flawless shoreline was my main obsession. Somewhere between Lauren's relocation to the Hollywood hills and her endless FIDM adventures, I decided fashion was the only thing I was interested in studying when college came around. Now, as a full time LA resident, I can only hope to reach even half of Lauren's impressive success. So you can imagine how excited I was when I came across a new delivery of LC by Lauren Conrad at Kohl's. The collection is not only affordable and adorable, but perfectly incapsulates Lauren's personal style that we've all grown to love. I simply adore this flirty skirt which I paired with the light pink tank top. I love that it's trimmed with delicate petals. It's these details that make me love Lauren's designs. This light weight ensemble is pure pink perfection and can be worn a couple of different ways.  In honor of the reality star turned mini mogul I decided Lauren's old LA pad was the perfect spot to shoot my latest outfit. The house in the background is where Lauren, Audrina, and Lo lived while filming Lauren's final season of The Hills. Below are more pictures of my end of summer fun ensemble designed by the ultra talented and inspiring Lauren Conrad. Also, don't forget to check out my most recent trip to Laguna here to see a breathtaking photo of LC's Laguna mansion! xoxo

LC by Lauren Conrad Fall 2011 Lookbook

The fall 2011 lookbook for LC by Lauren Conrad is out and I'm loving more pieces than ever. The dirty blonde style maven has a clean and effortless personal style that captured young girls fashion eye during her stint on "Laguna Beach" and "The Hills." Since then, Lauren has transitioned beautifully into the design world and it's easy to imagine her wearing each of these pieces through the streets of Hollywood. I'm totally and completely smitten with the seriously fierce black blazer. I can already picture a handful of pieces in my closet that must be paired with it immediately. A few of my other favorites from the collection include the black skirt with the red polka dots, and the pleated high waisted shorts and skirt moments scattered throughout. You may remember me sharing Lauren's Holiday designs for her Paper Crown collection a while back. Not to play faves, but I'm totally crushing on this collection slightly more. Plus LC by Lauren Conrad is available at Kohl's, making it super convenient and seriously affordable. The dresses retail for around $68, the skirts are only $50, and the adorable flower jewelry is retailing for $24. Which piece are you most excited to rock this fall?

Something Extra: Check out this behind the scenes look at Lauren shooting her Fall 2010 lookbook for LC by Lauren Conrad collection last year.
